Opened in 1943 were five hospitals to the South East of Great Malvern, utilised by the United States Army to treat a stream of casualties from the invasion of Europe. These hospitals were Brickfields Hospital, Wood Farm Hospital, Blackmore Park One, Blackmore Park Two and Merebrook Hospital.
