An original and rare B-14 Flight Jacket. Technically a flight jacket but rarely used as such, being standardised for Enlisted Men in early 1944. It was worn exclusively by men of the Army Air Force.
Cut in a similar style to the later Ike Jacket, the B-14 is made from a smooth wool and finished in OD shade 54.
This example has an Army Air Force stamp inside the front and retains it's original label, showing manufacture by W & C Clothing Co. Generally very good order, a couple of moth nips of the collar, one on the sleeve and one on the reverse (pictured). No rips or tears and retains all the original buttons. Stated on the label to be a size 36, but measured by hand as follows;
Pit to Pit - 20.5 inches (so a 38" to 40" chest)
Shoulder seam to cuff - 23 inches
Waist - 17 inches (so 32" to 34")
Shoulder to shoulder - 19 inches
Beautiful relic of a bygone era, getting harder and harder to find.
