An unusual item that arrived this week, a red cotton twill tag/banner/pennant bearing the words 'Remove Before Flight'. The banner is a little grubby, as would be expected and measures a total length of 25 inches. Still bears the metal wiring at the top for connecting to the sheath or cover that would be fitted to the aircraft.
More modern tags are made from vinyl or plastic, or sometimes a tightly woven cotton and this tag is thought to date to the post war era, perhaps the 1950s or 60s. Obtained from the States and therefore believed to be American in origin.
