A lovely condition Service Dress tunic and trousers.

Tunic

The tunic is not size marked but bears nice quality Royal Artillery collar brass (look to be the slightly larger size cap badges), Major's crowns, with evidence of where previous Lieutenant and Captains pips have been removed.

Also bears the ribbon for the 1939/45 Star, Africa Star, with 8 Device and Italy Star (presumably missing the Defence and 39/45 War ribbons).

Un-named as far as I can see, no labels either. Condition is very nice, couple of moth nips, but no rips, tears or damage. Light soiling in a couple of places, would benefit from a gentle clean.

Interestingly the buttons (top button come away, will be sent inside top pocket), bear the name "Queen Mary's Regiment, Surrey Yeomanry". This was a pre-war Territorial unit, adopting the moniker in 1922 (prior to this just called the Surrey Yeomanry). I suspect the tunic dates from this inter-war period. They became known as the 98th (Surrey and Sussex Yeomanry, Queen Mary's) Field Regiment, R.A. in 1938.

Served as part of the 1st Armoured in the B.E.F., Africa and Italy (confirming medal entitlement on the tunic).

Found in the tunic pocket was a small Surrey Yeomanry badge/sweetheart.

The tunic has come via a dealer from the daughter of the veteran, so a possible Great Malvern connection.

Measured by hand as follows;

Chest - 19.5"

Shoulder seam to cuff - 24"

Shoulder to shoulder - 17.5"

Trousers

The trousers are similarly in good condition, one spot of more noticeable mothing very low on one leg (pictured).

Waist - 15"

Inside Leg - 30.5", but have been turned up with another 1" inch folded.
