Cecil Cheeseman was entitled to a 15 trio, having arrived in France on 18 July 1915. He served with the 82nd Field Company. 'Soldiers Died' states he died of wounds on 1 August 1916
He was the son of George and Mary of Cerne Abbas, Dorchester and is buried in Daours Communal Cemetery Extension. The was one of several cemeteries near the field hospitals readied in preparation for the Battle of the Somme.
