An original British War Medal, short length of replacement ribbon, correctly named to;

PTE E. L. HOWES 2ND S A I.

Service papers included. Edgar Howes was taken on strength 4 June 1917 and embarked on 14 August 1917. The service papers show he was severely gassed on 29 March 1918. After evacuation to 72nd General Hospital he began to suffer from pneumonia and influenza and died on 18 May 1918.
