Hugh Clark was entitled to a 15 Star trio, having arrived in France on 17 September 1915. His service record still exists on Ancestry which shows he attested for the Scottish Signals Service, R.E. at the grand old age of 38, in March 1915 in Glasgow. He hailed from Springburn, Glasgow. He was a bit of a bad boy, being punished for being drunk and improperly dressed just 10 days before he was posted to France and then in February 1918, was disclipined for being out of his barracks area without a pass.
