James Cole was entitled to a 15 Star trio having arrived in France on 7 May 1915 (according to the MIC), having previously lived in Glasgow.
He has two service records available on Ancestry, the first of which is quite faded but shows he attested 11 September 1914 for the territorial forces. The record states he was discharged on 11 January 1915 upon re-enlistment into the Regular Army. The second record shows him attesting on 12 January 1915.
James was awarded the Military Medal, which was gazetted on 9 July 1917.
