An original World War One medal pair, comprising British War Medal and Victory Medal, original ribbons, swing mounted on card. Named as follows;

George Phillips was entitled to a pair.
Soldiers Died shows he died of wounds received, on 12 November 1916, whilst serving with the 1/6th Gloucesters.
CWGC confirms he is buried in St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, in proximity to a number of military hospitals around Rouen. His Pension Ledger index card confirms he died from gunshot wounds.
The war diary is fairly brief for November 1916, but does show some front line work at Scott's Redoubt, near Albert, on the Somme.
