Replica Battle of Britain clasp for 1939/45 Star, ready to be sewn onto the ribbon. The Battle of Britain Clasp was instituted in 1945 for award to air crew members on fighter aircraft who took part in the Battle of Britain from 10 July to 31 October 1940. A total of 2,936 airmen qualified for the clasp. A silver-gilt rosette, worn on the ribbon bar, denotes the award of this clasp.
This item is British made by one of the Ministry of Defence's approved contractors who supply medals and ribbons to armed forces around the world. This is not a cheaper foreign import and is die struck, rather than an injection mould created item. The detail is therefore crisper and sharper than some of the cheaper imports.
