The U.S. Army Hospitals 1943-1945, Great Malvern, Worcestershire

Opened in 1943 were five hospitals to the South East of Great Malvern, utilised by the United States Army to treat a stream of casualties from the invasion of Europe. These hospitals were Brickfields Hospital, Wood Farm Hospital, Blackmore Park One, Blackmore Park Two and Merebrook Hospital. Most of the hospital sites found post-war use for Dutch, Belgian, French and British Army camps. I take a walk around the sites, to see what remains...

American Use of the British Battledress

This is a piece leaving the shop this week, which was obtained by us from the USA. It's large size and bears American insignia and appears to have been used by an American soldier whilst based in the UK, with the 9th Air Force.
